Marieta Da Costa is the creative force behind Knot.me.
An architect and interior designer with a profound love for art in all its forms, Marieta was born in Lisbon and spent 13 formative years in London, where she completed her studies. For the past 14 years, she has made Macao her home, a place where she founded Knot.me in February 2020 during the first COVID-19 lockdown.
For her, Knot.me became a liberating creative outlet—a response to the constraints of the pandemic. The inability to freely seek beauty in the world around her inspired her to create it instead. Deeply influenced by the colors of her surroundings, the ever-changing hues of the ocean, and the textures of the natural environment, her work is a reflection of her connection to the world. Her creations celebrate craftsmanship, blending traditional techniques with innovative designs. She meticulously sources materials from fair-trade suppliers across Portugal, Italy, China, Indonesia, and America, ensuring each piece tells a story of sustainability and ethical production. From industrial and natural materials to recycled and discarded elements, she breathes new life into her creations. Her bracelets, necklaces, bags, and interior accessories are more than objects — they are expressions of her passion for art, her respect for craftsmanship, and her commitment to sustainability. Marieta’s work is deeply personal, reflecting her journey across cultures, her love for the natural world, and her belief in the transformative power of design. Through Knot.me, she invites you to explore a world where beauty, creativity, and responsibility intertwine.
